Any member of a community can be subjected to hate crimes based on personal factors such as race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or sexual identity. Because victims of these crimes often feel unsafe, hate crimes are rarely reported. Since no community can truly flourish under the threat of hate crimes, SCG seeks to counter the rising threat of hate crimes by offering insight and training into how to handle the unique issues these crimes entail. In additional to providing general information on what constitutes a hate crime, our training program informs and encourages participants to create safer paths in which victims are more willing to report hate crimes for the health and safety of our communities.
